The Phlebotomy Technician Program is designed to prepare students for employment as phlebotomy technicians in laboratories, hospitals, blood banks, doctor’s clinics, sports, medical facilities, and insurance companies.
This is an introductory course that will enable the student to acquire manual skills in obtaining blood specimens using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques. He will obtain a thorough knowledge of laboratory test requirements and departmental policies. He will learn how to collect and transport blood specimens for clinical laboratory analyses.
After completion of the course, the student will be eligible to take the national licensure exam through American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
